Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a chemistry degree to take this cosmetic formulation course?
No. This course is designed to take complete beginners to confident formulators, teaching the underlying chemistry step by step as you go, so no science background is needed. It is simply taught by a chemist, Dr. SamiUllah, Ph.D. in Chemistry, so you learn the science correctly from day one instead of following blind recipes.
Is this course suitable for beginners?
Yes. The first three weeks assume zero prior knowledge and build your foundation in cosmetic science, skin biology, and chemistry before you formulate anything. By Week 8 you are making cleansers, serums, moisturizers, sunscreens, and masks yourself.
How long is the cosmetic formulation course?
Twelve weeks, structured into four phases: foundations, ingredients and formulation, production and testing, and safety and launch. It finishes with a capstone product you develop from scratch.
Is the course online?
Yes. It is delivered fully online with live guidance from Dr. SamiUllah, so you can take part from anywhere in the world.
Do I receive a certificate?
Yes. On completing all twelve weeks and your capstone project, you receive a certificate of completion from Formula Chemistry.
What will I be able to do after the course?
You will be able to formulate stable, effective skincare from scratch and understand why each ingredient is used, then take a product from formula design through costing, labeling, and launch. Your capstone is a launch-ready product of your own.
How much does the course cost?
The full twelve-week course is $2,000, which includes live instruction, every module from science to scale-up, and your capstone project.
Who teaches the course?
The course is taught by Dr. SamiUllah, Ph.D. in Chemistry and founder of Formula Chemistry, who specializes in the science behind cosmetic formulation.
